"We will continue our protest until our demands are met"

In demand for adequate compensation against the land acquisation for the Delhi-Dehradun Economic Corridor, farmers of Shamli have started an indefinitely long sit-in protest in the Panipat-Khatima highway. The proposed expressway affects 22 villages of Janpad. The length of the expressway is 32.05 km and an area of 221 hectares has been proposed for acquisition.
