उत्तर प्रदेश के ज़िला शामली से हो कर जा रहे दिल्ली देहरादून एक्नोमिक कोरिडोर एक्सप्रेस वे पर रोड कट की मांग को लेकर शामली के किसानों ने धरना शुरू कर दिया जिसमे B.K.U के राष्ट्रीय युवा अध्यक्ष किसान नेता गौरव टिकैत जी मौके पर पहुंचे । पिछले लंबे समय से दिल्ली देहरादून एक्नोमिक कोरिडोर एक्सप्रेस वे पर शामली के गांव भाज्जू में रोड कट को लेकर किसानों और प्रशासन के बीच विवाद चल रहा था जिसकी वजह से एक्सप्रेस वे का काम बंद पड़ा था । लेकिन 4 सितंबर को प्रशासन ने जबरदस्ती काम शुरू कर दिए जिससे नाराज़ किसानों ने एक्सप्रेस वे पर ही धरना शुरू कर दिया और अपनी मांगों को प्रशासन के सामने रखा | किसानों का कहना है कि जब तक गांव भाजू में उतार चढ़ाव के लिए कट नहीं मिलेगा हाइवे का काम पूरा नहीं होने देंगे।

National Youth President of B.K.U. and farmer leader Gaurav Tikait arrived at the protest site. For a long time, there had been a dispute between the farmers and the administration over a road cut in the village of Bhajju on the Delhi-Dehradun Economic Corridor Expressway, which had halted the construction of the expressway. However, on September 4, the administration forcibly resumed work, angering the farmers, who began protesting directly on the expressway and presented their demands to the administration.

The farmers stated that until a proper road cut is provided for entry and exit in the village of Bhajju, they will not allow the highway construction to be completed.
