उत्तर प्रदेश के ज़िला शामली में गांव भज्जू के पास दिल्ली-देहरादून एक्सप्रेस वे पर कट की मांग को लेकर किसानों का बेमियादी धरना जारी है। किसान दिनरात धरने पर जमे हुए हैं। किसानों कहना है कि जब तक कट नहीं मिलेगा, तब तक धरना जारी रहेगा। 10 दिसंबर 2024 को एक (धीरेंद्र) किसान शहीद हो गया। किसानों का कहना हैं कि धीरेंद्र के सीने में तेज दर्द हुआ और सांस लेने में परेशानी हुई। इसके बाद उसे शामली के निजी अस्पताल ले गए जहां चिकित्सक ने उसे मृत घोषित कर दिया। किसानों का कहना है कि किसानों की शहादत को बेकार नहीं जाने दिया जाएगा। उनकी शहादत हमेशा याद रहेगी और भज्जू कट को लेकर ही रहेंगे। जब तक कट नहीं मिलता तब तक धरना जारी रहेगा।

On December 10, 2024, a farmer named Dhirendra tragically passed away during the protest. According to fellow protesters, he experienced severe chest pain and difficulty breathing. He was rushed to a private hospital in Shamli, where doctors declared him dead.
Farmers have vowed not to let Dhirendra’s sacrifice go in vain. They insist his martyrdom will always be remembered, and they will not stop their protest until the Bhajju cut is approved.
