भारतीय किसान यूनियन (BKU) के राष्ट्रीय प्रवक्ता राकेश टिकैत पर 2 मई 2025 को उत्तर प्रदेश के मुजफ्फरनगर में आयोजित एक जन आक्रोश रैली के दौरान हमला हुआ। इस घटना में उनकी पगड़ी गिर गई, जिसे किसानों ने उनके सम्मान पर हमला माना। इस घटना के विरोध में 3 मई 2025 को मुजफ्फरनगर में एक महापंचायत आयोजित की गई, जिसमें बड़ी संख्या में किसान और विभिन्न वर्गों के लोग शामिल हुए। महापंचायत के दौरान किसानों ने इस हमले को पूर्व नियोजित बताया और कहा कि यह किसानों की आवाज़ दबाने की कोशिश है।

In protest against this incident, a Mahapanchayat was organised in Muzaffarnagar on 3 May 2025, in which a large number of farmers and people from different classes participated. During the Mahapanchayat, the farmers described the attack as pre-planned and said that it was an attempt to suppress the voice of the farmers.
