उत्तर प्रदेश के ज़िला मुज़फ़्फ़रनगर में फुगाना थाना क्षेत्र की डूंगर गांव की रहने वाली महिला ने परिवार के साथ कलक्ट्रेट में धरना दिया। पूनम ने बताया कि उसकी शादी मेरठ के गांव पूठ निवासी विकास के साथ हुई थी। 2012 में उसके पति की मौत हो गई थी, जिसके बाद उसके देवर अनिल उर्फ बब्बू से उसकी शादी करा दी गई थी। ऐसे में करीब छह सालों से वह अपने दोनों बच्चों के साथ मायके में रह रही है। अभी तक पूनम के ससुराल वाले उसको घर वापस लेने नही आये है जिससे परेशान होकर उन्होंने थाना फुगाना में मुकदमा दर्ज कराया है लेकिन अभी तक आरोपियों की गिरफ्तारी नहीं की गई। इस धरने के बाद 5 अप्रैल 2023 को सीओ फुगाना के आश्वासन पर यह धरना हटा दिया गया है ।

A woman from Dungar village in Muzaffarnagar district, Uttar Pradesh, protested at the Collectorate with her family. She explained that she got married to Vikas from Pooth village in Meerut, but her husband passed away in 2012. After that, she was married to her brother-in-law Anil, also known as Babloo. She has been living with her children at her parents’ home for about six years, as her in-laws have not taken her back to their home. She filed a complaint at Fugana police station, but no arrests have been made yet. The protest was lifted on April 5, 2023, after CO Fugana assured her.
