29 जुलाई 2024 को यूपी के ज़िला शामली के किसानों ने शामली के सोसाइटी पर फिर से बकाया गन्ना भुगतान को लेकर धरना प्रदर्शन किया। किसानों ने मिल को चेतावनी दी है कि अगर हमारा 30 अगस्त को बकाया गन्ना भुगतान नहीं होता है तो हम अपनी महापंचायत करेंगे और शामली शुगर मिल पर ताला जड़ देंगे।

On July 29, 2024, farmers from the Shamli district in Uttar Pradesh once again staged a protest at the Shamli Society over pending sugarcane payments. The farmers have warned the mill that if their overdue sugarcane payments are not settled by August 30, they will hold a Mahapanchayat and lock down the Shamli Sugar Mill.
