पिछले लंबे समय से दिल्ली देहरादून एक्नोमिक कोरिडोर एक्सप्रेस वे पर शामली के गांव भाज्जू में रोड कट को लेकर किसानों और प्रशासन के बीच विवाद चल रहा था जिसकी वजह से एक्सप्रेस वे का काम बंद पड़ा था । लेकिन 4 सितंबर को प्रशासन ने जबरदस्ती काम शुरू कर दिए जिससे नाराज़ किसानों ने एक्सप्रेस वे पर ही धरना शुरू कर दिया और अपनी मांगों को प्रशासन के सामने रखा | किसानों का कहना है कि जब तक गांव भाजू में उतार चढ़ाव के लिए कट नहीं मिलेगा हाइवे का काम पूरा नहीं होने देंगे, हाइवे पर कट लेके रहेंगे।

The farmers stated that they will not allow the highway work to be completed until a cut for elevation is granted in Bhajju village. They are determined to secure the road cut.
