राष्ट्रीय लोकदल ने उत्तर प्रदेश में ज़िला शामली के कलेक्ट्रेट पर बकाया गन्ना भुगतान को लेकर धरना प्रदर्शन किया। इस धरने को शामली विधायक प्रसन्न चौधरी ने संबोधित किया।प्रसन्न चौधरी ने कहा हैं कि उन्होंने कहा कि एक बीघा गन्ने की फसल में 14 हजार की लागत आती है। सरकार की किसान की आय दोगना करने की घोषणा बेदम साबित हुई। उन्होंने कहा हैं कि नया गन्ना पेराई सत्र शुरु हुए तीन माह समाप्त होने के बाद भी प्रदेश सरकार ने गन्ना मूल्य घोषित नहीं किया हैं।

The Rashtriya Lok Dal staged a sit-in protest at the collectorate of Shamli district in Uttar Pradesh over pending payment of sugarcane. The protest was addressed by Shamli MLA Prasanna Chowdhary. Prasanna Chowdhary said that the cost of growing one bigha of sugarcane crop amounts to Rs 14,000. The government’s announcement of doubling the income of the farmer has been proved worthless. He said that the state government has not declared the sugarcane rates even after the completion of three months of the new sugarcane crushing season.
