भारत मे क़रीब 50 लाख सफ़ाई कर्मचारी हैं। सफ़ाई कर्मचारियों को हमेशा समाज के निचले पायदान समझा जाता है। देश को स्वच्छ बनाने में सफ़ाई कर्मचारियों का बहुत बड़ा योगदान है, हर महीने करीब 200 सफ़ाई कर्मियों की मौत ही जाती हैं।

There are about 50 lakh sanitation workers in India. These sanitation workers or Safai Karamcharis have always been considered as the lower rungs of the society even when they are the ones who work the hardest to keep our country clean. Yet, every month about 200 sanitation workers die across the country.
