2 अप्रैल 2018 एक ऐतिहासिक दिन था। पूरे भारत में इस दिन एस.सी./एस.टी. के सुप्रीम कोर्ट द्वारा कमज़ोर किये जाने के विरोध में दलित समाज के लोग सड़कों पर आये। इसके चलते कुछ जगहों पर हिंसा भी हुई और कुछ दलितों की गिरफ्तारी भी हुई। आजमगढ़ के हरैया गाँव में भी बहुत से दलित युवाओं को पुलिस ने गिरफ्तार किया, पर यहाँ की दलित महिलाओं ने इसका विरोध करते हुए पुलिस थाने का घेराव किया और गिरफ्तार किये हुए लोगों को छोड़ने की मांग की। चलचित्र अभियान ने इन महिलाओं से इस बारे में बातचीत की।

In Haraiya village of Azamgarh, violence and police arrests ensued on 2nd April 2018 after the Dalit community came onto the streets to protest against the dilution of SC/ST Act by the Supreme Court. On 3rd April, 3000-4000 women from neighboring villages reached the local police station and encircled it, putting pressure on the police to leave the Dalits arrested on the previous day. The team of ChalChitra Abhiyaan talks to these women.
